Every Friday I will feature a music video that uses color to convey messages. First up, Janet Jackson – Anytime Anyplace.
I saw this while watching Vh1 Soul the other day. It was directed by Keir McFarlane and released in 1994. I love the use of vibrant reds, yellows, greens and blues throughout. The high-contrast quality and color work to demonstrate the song’s sensuality. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

I love this video. Reminds me of my early teens. I found it interesting that they used such bold and vibrant colors for such a sensual song. But I think it matches the record perfectly if you pay attention. The juxtaposition of HOW she’s singing and WHAT she’s actually saying. Sweet yet bold. Kinda matches the color palette. Anyway, love this record. Great post.
