This 2010 video from DMCI made for the PromaxBDA ANZ conference summed up the last few days for me avoiding school work. All that’s missing is my MacBook with g-chat, Twitter and Tumblr open. Oh yea and football on in the background.
I’ve been really busy making some changes in preparation on delivering on my 2012 goals. These including the harrowing task of looking for a new apartment, so posts may be spotty this month.
I did want to share this great video one of my lecturers shared in class this week. The challenge here was for the designers to create an image out of a word, using only the letters in the word itself. The end results are really quite clever.
Bright and colorful artwork on the new album Wild Produce by producer dRes. The album features tracks from some of my favorites like Homeboy Sandman and Tanya Morgan.

Remember Beyonce’s awesome Aug/Sep 2011 issue of Complex? Made recently posted a link to the interview with the artist/designer responsible for the artwork, Ebon Heath.
It turns out that the text-based pieces you see wrapping Beyoncé on the cover and the inside spread are actually physical sculptures that Heath created—not 3D text renderings or altered Photoshop designs. Read more on it here.
Geometry inspired jewel prints from illustrator Tabitha Bianca Brown. According to the description on Etsy, the retro style print was created with digital drawing and a wood background.
I would kill to get my hands on some studs that looked like these. So pretty.
Happy 2012! I hope you’re all excited about this year as I am. Last year was a period of tremendous growth for me with starting my graphic design one year program and accomplishing my career goals in media. I can’t wait to see what’s in the works for 2012. I’m especially looking forward sharing it all with you here.
