I meant to post this on Friday, but lost track of time. The new salsa mix from flwrpt is definitely worth a listen. I’m not even a big salsa fan and I was diggin’ it.
Download here. Enjoy!
Fun patterns on these scarves from accessory-based line Theodora and Callum. The tan Ikat piece at the top left and blue Navajo print on the bottom left are cool.
Their shoes are equally as stunning.
Check out more including jewelry and bags here.
It seems to be the summer of Ecote over at Urban Outfitters and I for one am a fan! I’ve got my eye on both of those rompers and the sandals and bag are also really cute. See more on the UO website here.

I guess it’s my inner thug coming out again, but I’ve had Biggie’s Ten Crack Commandments in my head for the past several weeks now. I’ve been waking up singing it and randomly humming it throughout the day. Really don’t know what it’s all about…
Anyway, I found this video that speaks of the song’s inspiration. Apparently there was an article in the July 1994 issue of The Source magazine that listed the 10 commandments a crack dealer should live by. Veeeeeery interesting.
WARNING: This video contains profanity, so it’s not safe for work. Put those headphones on!
If you’re unfamiliar with the song you can listen to it here. Also, the dope image above is by graphic designer and illustrator Razauno.
Have a great weekend!
Color changing the face of the community of Santa Marta in Rio de Janeiro. More on the project here.
I’m loving the Pop Color collection from Aldo. So many fun looks for the summer in a variety of styles ranging from wedges to flats to high heels. See more from the line here.
Paintings and patterns by Ama Kyere. I especially like the texture and repetition in the second piece above. For more work and an on-going catalog of her projects check out her blog here.
Wax Poetics is a bimonthly music magazine whose content ranges from jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, R&B, reggae, blues and Latin. The first issue was published in late 2001 and since then it’s presence has expanded to include apparel sales, a record label, a music download site, book publishing and film divisions, and a weekly radio show on New York City’s East Village Radio hosted by the magazine’s staff.
I’ve been seeing the magazine on friends’ coffee table for months now and recently became of fan of the fantastic writing, quality paper stock and strong photography. I definitely recommend picking up a copy if you’re unfamiliar. Now is actually a great time since they’re having a customer appreciation sale and offering 50% off of back issues and books. More details available on their site here.
Have a great weekend!
