Why Street Art Matters

I read a great post on The Cool Hunter on the importance of street art and how adding color to the outdoor landscape can revitalize a space.  The article further goes on to challenge readers to make a difference and change the face of your city by reaching out to Access Agency.

The Invisible Man

“Invisible Man” Liu Bolin, from Shandong, China uses paint to camouflage himself into his surroundings.  His shoots apparently take up to 10 hours!  I can see why.  Look at the detail in these.

This is both the funniest and coolest thing I’ve seen in a while.  This guy has got quite the imagination.

United Nude Shoes

When a friend of mine sent me these images, I immediately fell in love.  Created by United Nude these shoes were designed with the fluent movement of a single strip.  The strip folds around the foot front-to-back-to-front like a scarf resulting a beautiful effect.

The entire collection is available on the site here.

Friday Music Inspiration: Travis Barker – Give the Drummer Some

Travis Barker recently released a hip hop album called Give the Drummer Some where his sounds are collaborated with top artists such as Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Ludacris.

The album is pure fire.  My favorites so far are Bun B and Beigel Siegel’s “Just Chill” and Kid Cudi’s “Cool Head”.  Tracks from the album can be heard over at HipHopDX here.

The above illustration of Travis is by Franky Anduiza.  See more of his dope work including basketball favorites LeBron James and Kobe Bryant here.

Inspired by: Sunshine

Sunshine

Inspired by sunshine or lack there of in this case.  It’s been really gray and rainy in New York for the past week, so I put together some yellow style inspiration to add some cheer to the day.  I’ve also got Roy Ayer’s “Sunshine” on repeat today.  Take a listen here.

1. Casio watch, 2. Sweetheart earrings, 3. Cotton poplin dress, 4. Proenza Schouler leather bag, 5. Emma hooded toggle coat, 6. Kate Spade enamel bangle, 7. Sigerson Morrison sandals
