Do something good for the environment while listening to your favorite tunes on this boombox made from recycled Starburst packaging. More details here.
Bursts of color from Jen Stark. I think I’m going to have to dedicate one post per week to her over the month of March. Her portfolio is sick. I mean WOW!
Nike collaborated with Roots drummer Questlove to come out with the second installment of Nike Questos (the first pair shown here were released in 2008). The sneakers are available in red, yellow and black for a limited time only.
These all-black kicks are pretty fresh too. Times like these I actually wish I wore sneakers on the regular.
The sneakers will be available at Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer, New York, and select Nike Sportswear retailers nationwide on March 4th.
Ever thought about escaping in an air balloon when you were a kid? I did and this picture brought back those childhood memories. I would love to be in that house right now! All I can think about is the view and I sip my morning tea and read my newspaper.
I’ll be a little spotty this week since I’m working on a major assignment with a tight deadline. I’ll definitely try to get at least one thing up here every day though. Hope you’re having a great day!
Kanye’s “All of the Lights” video dropped on Saturday and I for one am loving it. The video was directed by Hype Williams and features some dope typographic designs.
Some of my faves.
There’s so much more here. I wish I could capture them all. Take a close look and see for yourself.
*WARNING: If you’re prone to seizures this video may not be for you. Lots of lights and movement. I was joking about this with one of my friends, when the actual video revised with this language. Kinda crazy.
If you caught the halftime show during the NBA All-Star game last Sunday, you would have seen Kanye perform this with Rihanna. He sported what’s becoming to be his traditional all red attire, although this time his pants were extra shiny. Gotta love a man who’s not afraid to express his colorful side.
Anyway, that’s enough Kanye for a day. Have a great weekend y’all!
Every thought that Kanye’s tweets were so poetic that they should be art? Well you’re not alone. The folks over at NovelPoster have created a series of 10 posters that celebrates the evolution of writing. The 10 posters consist of 5 novels and 5 well-known Twitter users (Kanye included) and features a silhouette of an iconic image created from the text itself.
The fact that Kanye was chosen to be featured doesn’t surprise me at all. I’m one of his 2 million followers and hang out to his every word. Minus the recent abortion tweet. He was kinda trippin’ on that one.
Graphic design meets the interior with these awesome cushions from Brazilian surface design studio ‘Mönster Design de Superfície’.
The collection was developed with unique designs and creations inspired by the techniques of modernist artists like Athos, creator of the remarkable ceramic panels that accompany most of the works of Oscar Niemeyer in Brasilia.
Check out the online store here for more details. Note that it’s in Portuguese so unless you’re fluent you may want to use Google Translate to read the page.
Adorable animal illustrations from Ty Wilkins. All of the textures are hand painted and then scanned. These jumped out to me since these use some of my favorite colors.
More from Ty is available on his website here. The horse and other prints are available at his Etsy shop here.
We love showcasing great talent here on The AOC. If you think your work is a good fit, please drop us an email for consideration at amanda [@] theaudacityofcolor.com.
