Pretty tableware and wallpaper found over at the colorful and quirky home accessory store Isak. That piece of bread looks so yummy. I must be really hungry.

The Miss Wax post below made be think of how I’ve been enamored by earrings, especially vintage studs, and have been collecting them over the past couple of months.
These all came from various places such as street vendors, thrift stores and random boutiques so I can’t give you guys a real source to find them, but I did find a couple of stores on Etsy to pick up a pair. The Old Bazaar, DJewelsRFab and Guitarah each have cute offerings, but you may want to also take a gander in your local flea market or consignment shop. You never know what goodies you’ll come across!
Dazzling earrings by Miss Wax. These remind me of the Melody Ehsani’s designs. The “walking” pair are my favorite.
More of the collection including necklaces and rings are available here.
Lauryn Hill created a version of the Bob Marley and the Wailers song “Turn Your Lights Down Low” for Chant Down Babylon, a remix album by various hip hop and rock artists covering songs by the group, released in 1999. The music video for the song features Hill and on and off partner, Rohan Marley, one of Bob’s sons.
The use to green, red and yellow hues used here are in line with the reggae theme.
This is certainly on my top 10 list of favorite love songs.
There were mixed reviews about Lauryn’s performance at Rock the Bells last Saturday, but I don’t care what people say I love me some Ms. Hill and I’m glad to see her back. See clips of the concert here.
Enjoy the long weekend. See you on Tuesday!
Fantastic illustrations by Ken Taylor. The detail in these are off the chain. More of his work including a really great poster of Bob Dylan can be found here.
I’m in love with this stackable ring by CC Skye. I think I want to get it and pick up some gold fronts to match.
More of CC Skye’s unique jewelry including cuffs, earrings and bangles are available on Shop Bop. Ring available on 80s Purple.
Colorful patterns by Brooklyn based shoe company, Osborn. Not only are these hand-cut and handmade by Guatemalan artisans using fair trade and locally-sourced materials – they’re also wildly fierce.
